In the field of disk-type rotors, Hofmann offers a versatile machine program for all known rotor types. Whether brake disk, brake drum, flywheel or dual mass flywheel, starter ring or driver plate, wheel flange or wheel hub need to be balanced, Hofmann's V-Line module kit offers the right solution for each of these rotor types.
Thanks to Hofmann's own development of all components and assemblies, this is an extremely consistent and homogeneous machine concept that can implement the various possibilities of unbalance correction. This module kit also offers the possibility to combine unbalance correction variants or subsequently expand machine sizes and unbalance correction variants.
In addition to production-related aspects – such as compliance with machine availability, cycle time, ease of conversion and maintainability – Hofmann balancing machines reliably offer high quality.
Proprietary designs, such as the option of a "lowerable spindle" that has been developed to protect the measuring spindle against impact forces during loading / unloading or processing forces, or the patented "automatic calibration system" in conjunction with an SQL database, are intended to secure or even continuously improve the quality of daily production.
Type BVW11
With balancing machines for brake disks, unbalance measurement and unbalance correction is performed in one plane. The unbalance correction is accomplished by circular milling of the workpieces on the outside diameter of the disk. Depending on the customer requirements, these machines can be run in batch operation (unmixed) or in a chaotic mixed operation. In addition, a change from brake disk to brake drum is possible with minimal retooling effort.
Loading is either manual by the operator (single-station variant) or automatic by an interlinking system and an integrated round transfer on the machine side (multi-station variant). The decision regarding the selection of the required stations depends on the cycle time specified by the customer.

Type SVW11
With balancing machines for flywheels, unbalance is measured in one plane and corrected by axial drilling from the top. Based on the customer requirement and expected machine cycle time, these machines may vary from a single-station concept with manual loading to a fully automatic four-station machine with integrated round transfer.
To protect the measuring spindle against impacts, for example during manual loading / unloading, and to take up the axial drilling forces, these machines are equipped with the specially developed additional "lowerable spindle" function.

Type SVW11
With balancing machines for dual mass flywheels, unbalance is measured in one plane and corrected by radial drilling or milling. Based on the customer requirement and expected machine cycle time, these machines may vary from a single-station concept with manual loading to a fully automatic four-station machine with integrated round transfer.
A special feature of this machine is, for example, the clamping technology which may require individual clamping on the primary side and secondary side, respectively, depending on the workpiece type. Due to the loose combination of these two components, there is often the additional requirement of runout monitoring at the beginning of the unbalance measuring run.

Type CVW11
For the balancing of starter rings, a great variety of correction variants is available, depending on the workpiece type and the customer requirement. In addition to the single-plane correction by axial drilling into the external ring of the rotor, there are also the possibilities, for example, of hole punching or welding-on of preformed weights in the driver plate of the rotor.
With the Hofmann V-Line module kit, it is also possible to combine two correction variants within one machine. For example, workpiece type "A" can be balanced in one station by axial drilling and workpiece "B" in the subsequent station by welding on preformed weights. The type of correction variant is specified by the customer.

Type RVK41-II
The type RVK41-II unbalance measuring machine is used to determine unbalance of aluminum rims in one or two planes. Thanks to its compact design and the use of a lowerable intermediate belt, the machine can be integrated ideally as "in-line solution".

Various machine concepts are available for balancing belt pulleys. From the fully automatic single-station machine where unbalance is measured and also corrected in the same station, to the fully automatic four-station machine. The decision regarding the required number of stations depends on the specified cycle time and the selected machine concept.
Unbalance correction usually is performed by axial drilling. However, there is also the possibility of axial milling in the cover plate of the workpiece. Loading can be manual, automatic by a robot or a loading gantry or also in an interlinked line via integrated round transfer.

Various machine concepts are available for balancing vibration absorbers. From the fully automatic single-station machine where unbalance is measured and also corrected in the same station, to the fully automatic four-station machine. The decision regarding the required number of stations depends on the specified cycle time and the selected machine concept.

Type CVW11
With balancing machines for wheel flanges – also called wheel hubs –, unbalance measurement and unbalance correction is performed in one plane. Unbalance correction is achieved, depending on the customer requirement, either by axial reaming of existing holes or radial drilling of workpieces on the outside diameter of the flange disk. In the correction variant with axial drilling correction, the machine is equipped with the specially designed additional "lowerable spindle" function. This function protects the measuring spindle by lowering it after the unbalance measurement is complete, so the drilling forces are directly transferred to the machine table.
Loading may be manual by the operator (single-station variant) or automatic by an interlinking system and an integrated round transfer on the machine side (multi-station variant). The decision regarding the selection of the required stations depends on the cycle time specified by the customer.
